       Started with a good three months of roundup on an empty half-acre

      Add 40 yards of redwood sawdust on the advice of a soil laboratory

      A clean canvas

      Drill a bizzillion holes with a Depot rental machine
      Fill with some with Pressure Treated peeler cores 4" x 8' inside, 6" x 10' outside

      Get the trellis wire strung and drip irrigation installed

      Insert the grafted dormant vines, Syrah Estrella on 1103P rootstock

      We dropped in 4 table grapes as well (yummm.....)

      Pretty solid growth the first year....almost every shoot up six feet

      I'll let a few flowers remain next year
      to have at least a couple of gallons to call mine.
